For Christians in Areas of Conflict

Pope Leo's prayer intention for December was released on the eve of his departure for Türkiye and Lebanon, his first apostolic journey. It is dedicated specifically to the Christian minorities who live in the midst of war.

"We will share with others, including people of different faiths and no religious faith, the joys and struggles of this spiritual journey." (Sisters of Mercy Chapter Statement)

In this last prayer intention of the year, Pope Leo asks that we pray “that Christians living in areas of war or conflict, especially in the Middle East, might be seeds of peace, reconciliation and hope.”
