Sisters of Mercy in Ministry

While we continue to cherish the spirit and values of the early days of our Congregation, we discover different ways of carrying out the Works of Mercy.

Sisters share their skills in a variety of different ministries. Where there is a need the Sisters will find a way of ministering.

Assistance is given to Refugees in the community through advocacy, education and skills training, the provision of housing and by pastoral care in refugee camps.

There are Sisters involved in the care of the aged, and in areas of health ministry in the roles of counselling, nursing, physiotherapy, research and the Wellness of Clients.

Sisters are involved in Research into Australian History and the role of Women in today’s society; Art and Spirituality with attention to Australian and Indigenous contribution; family mediation, tertiary education; music and drama, and the preservation of the environment and Social Justice issues.
