Declare Peace on Refugees - Palm Sunday March and Rally, April 13, 2014

Everyone has the right to live in peace, with justice and equality and that includes all asylum seekers. By declaring war on refugees, the Australian Government is alienating and dehumanising people who come to our country seeking the help we promised sixty years ago when the Menzies Coalition Government signed the United Nations Refugee Convention.

If you feel disturbed by Australia's response to Refugees and Asylum Seekers, join Sisters of Mercy and other concerned Australians in being a voice for those who have no voice. Be a part of the Palm Sunday March and Rally, Sunday, April 13th, 2014, beginning at 1.00pm, Hyde Park North, (near the fountain), Sydney.

Hear the Cries of Migrants: February 2020 Prayer Intention of Pope Francis

We are all invited to join with Pope Francis and his worldwide prayer network in praying this month's intention: Hearing the cries of migrants.

We pray that the cries of our migrant brothers and sisters, victims of criminal human smuggling and human trafficking, may be heard and considered.

Text of the video:

Migrants are often victims of criminal human smuggling and human trafficking.
Among other causes, this happens because of corruption on the part of people willing to do anything for financial gain.
The money from their dirty, underhanded business is blood money. I’m not exaggerating: it’s blood money.
We pray that the cries of our migrant brothers and sisters, victims of criminal human smuggling and human trafficking, may be heard and considered.

Promotion of World Peace: Prayer Intention of Pope Francis

We are all invited to join with Pope Francis and his worldwide prayer network in praying this month's intention: Promotion of World Peace.

We pray that Christians, followers of other religions, and all people of goodwill may promote together peace and justice in the world.

Text of the video:

In a divided and fragmented world, I want to invite all believers, and also all people of good will, to reconciliation and fraternity.
Our faith leads us to spread the values of peace and mutual understanding, of the common good.
We pray that Christians, followers of other religions, and all people of goodwill may promote together peace and justice in the world.
Thank you.

Prayer Intention: Australia's Devastating Bushfires

We pray

for the safety of the firefighters, remembering particularly the families and loved ones of those who have lost their lives or been injured in their efforts to protect the citizens and properties in their local communities;

for strength for those who have lost their homes and belongings and those who have lost their crops, animals and landholdings;

for the communities under severe threat from devastating bushfires burning across the country;

We continue our prayers for the end of drought gripping Australia. We pray that the rains will come to quell the fires, soak the parched Earth, fill the dams and restore hope in the farming communities.
